Noboru Kirishima (KIRISHIMA Noboru 霧島昇) (born 1914, died 1984) was a popular music and movie singer from Fukushima. His real name was Eigo Sakamoto. He was born in Okumura, Futaba County, Fukushima Prefecture (now Iwaki City). In 1979, he was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon. In 1938 (Showa 13), he recorded "Tabi no Yokaze", the theme song for Shochiku's film "Aizen Katsura", with Miss Columbia (real name Misao Matsubara, later using her real name as her stage name), who was a big star at the time, and it became a big hit. It sold over 1.2 million copies in the first year after its release, becoming the first million-seller in the history of Japanese records. In 1939 , he married Miss Columbia.
