No Regret Life was a Japanese rock band formed in January 2001 in Kanoya, Kagoshima Prefecture. Members: Vocals & Guitar: 小田和奏 (Kazusou Oda) (now known as "Coda") Bass: 松村元太 (Genta Matsumura) Drums & Backing vocals: 橋口竜太 (Ryūta Hashiguchi) Former members: Bass: 下苅由香 (Yuka Shimokariya) Early years Founding members were Kazusou Oda (vocals, guitar) and Ryuuta Hashiguchi (drums, backing vocals). Shortly after, Yuka Shimokariya joined on bass but was later replaced by Genta Matsumura. In their first years, the band played mainly around Kagoshima, performing local shows to build a following. Their debut album Tomorrow Is the Another Day was released in November 2002, followed by a national tour in 2003, including a show with ELLEGARDEN in May. Rise to prominence In 2004 they released the mini-album My Life, My Song, My Mind, marking a transition toward a more mature sound. In February 2005, they signed with Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Records and released their first major-label single, メロディー (Melody). Their best-known track, 失くした言葉 (Nakushita Kotoba), came out in June 2005 and was used as an ending theme for the anime Naruto, giving the band broad recognition. The following year they released their first full studio album Sign (2006), solidifying their place in Japan’s alternative rock scene.
