The story of NiteFlyte begins with Tony Campbell, a seasoned jazz guitarist from East London who has worked professionally as a musician for the past twelve years. As the founder and lead member of the group Perception, he was signed to Talkin’ Loud. In 1992 he was invited to join the group Act Of Faith as guitarist, songwriter and producer, quickly establishing a reputation for the group with albums for both Island Records and Expansion. Again he spent a great deal of time on the road in addition to enjoying chart success with “Love Not Love” and “Lost On A Breeze”. When the lead singer of Act Of Faith left to pursue a solo career, Tony had already been playing guitar on the UK’s burgeoning street jazz scene. Inspired by the success of Down To The Bone, Tony assembled a new group of top musicians and NiteFlyte was born. 30,000ft”, the group’s debut album, was released during the summer of 1997 on the Passion Jazz label. Immediately picked up by London’s Jazz FM, cuts such as “Coast To Coast” and “4am” have been supported by the station through to this day. In fact “4am” was one of Robbie Vincent’s most played tracks since his recent return to the station, is now a feature on Jazz FM’s own “Nu Cool” compilation. At this time Passion Jazz also secured a US release for Niteflyte with New York based label Instinct which took their music to the upper heights of the US smooth jazz charts. “Ascension” the album was released in December 1998, and reunited Tony with musicians incl
