Artist
Los Angeles native Nineteen Eightyfour (Dave Zee) released his first full length, "Trees for Breakfast", in 2008. A collection of minimal live funk, house and boom-bap hip hop, it helped him solidify his place in the Los Angeles DJ/Producer scene. With "Body Language", he attempts to channel his inner Robot, purveying a wide array of funk influences, from the glossy grooves of Kashif to the gritty low end of Parliament. Mixing these with a dose of New Wave & Rock, the result is culmination of everything that is good about 80s music, including the Rhythms, Synthesizers, and of course, the Vocoder.
