NINA MOFFITT is a vocalist from Brooklyn, NY who uses an instrumental approach to interpret music from a distinctive, genre-bending perspective. Nina learned to integrate diverse musical influences at an early age through collaborations with her father, pianist Peter Moffitt, and through studying the music of such musicians as Sarah Vaughan, Wayne Shorter and Joni Mitchell. LaGuardia High School for the Arts, where she studied classical, gospel, and jazz voice and new music composition. In 2005, Nina was granted an Honorary Mention from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts in the category of jazz voice, sang with the All City Jazz Band at Lincoln Center, and performed with singer-songwriter Josh Groban at Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and on national television (ABC Good Morning America). In May of 2009, Nina graduated with honors in cultural anthropology from Oberlin College, where she also studied at the world-renowned Oberlin Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Wendell Logan, Paul Samuels, Marcus Belgrave, and mezzo-soprano Lorraine Manz. Nina currently resides in New York City, where she performs with her own group, the
