(b Stolzenau, 2 Feb 1591; d Lübeck, 3 May 1658). German violinist and composer. He was a member of the Bückeburg court orchestra from 1617 and from 1621 a civic musician at Lübeck. He published collections of pavans, galliards etc; his violin writing shows lively figuration and rich double stopping.
