Graeme Coop and James Broughton (Birkwin Jersey & J Biscuits respectively) after some time working together on various projects have managed to craft something really special; Chopped vocal melodies layered with organic samples over driving electronic beats in a fidgety yet soothing manner. Taking their inspirations from the likes of Baths, Gold Panda and Sholohmo to name a few, a perfect blend of J Biscuits’ hip hop beat tape style and Jersey’s haunting ambient electronica sets the standard of things to come from this already promising partnership. When the guys aren’t busy furthering the career of their spoonerisms, the duo are working on their own releases as solo artists. Graeme Coop aka Birwkin Jersey describes his work as “Electro-acoustic collages and is sometimes known to use toy instruments for kids in his work. With a 2011 album release on Absent Fever Records and a jam packed full soundcloud page with lots of goodies, you start to get an idea of this to come, and it looks very good indeed. J Biscuits otherwise known as James Broughton is the beat-smith of the collaboration. His raw Hip-Hop influence really shines through in his head nodders so far, and with his current mind set of working with emcee’s things are definitely about to get very interesting, this is absolutely one to watch. Biscuits has currently 2 free releases circulating “Quests” and “Percs & Curses”. The duo’s Debut “Thieves EP” will be available digitally on 17th of September from all good onli
