A singer-songwriter from the West Country in the UK. Born in Barnet in 1955 though raised mostly in Surrey. First heard Steely Dan at a disco in the village of Northchapel in West Sussex in about 1973. This proved to be 'road to Damascus' moment. Hooked on Steely Dan ever since though it may or may not show in the music he produces! In those early days (70s), played in the same band as Bruce Foxton (rhythm guitar back then!) before he joined the Jam and Steve Prudence (bass) before he joined the Jags.
