Thirteen year-old Broadway actress, singer, SESAC songwriter, producer, composer and model, Nia Imani, has been dubbed “The Voice of A New Generation.” The Atlanta native has been singing and playing keys most of her young life. At the tender age of ten, she became one of the youngest girls ever to be signed as a songwriter/publisher by SESAC Atlanta. She’s performed at famed New York City venues like Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar and Madison Square Garden, portrayed first daughter, Malia Obama, in “Defying Inequality: The Broadway Concert” and wowed everyone with her mezzo-soprano vocal range as the opening act in the first ever, “SESAC Atlanta Strip Showcase for Kids.” Most impressively, Nia Imani starred in the Tony-Award winning Broadway musical “The Lion King” as Young Nala, Princess of the Pridelands and Simba’s best friend. She earned the role after auditioning and competing against thousands of youth in Disney's nationwide search. As a result of her successful role as Young Nala, she was cast to star in Disney’s The Lion King Educational video, “Being A Lion Kid” and later honored by Ebony Magazine as one of “Black Broadways’ Best.” Currently, Nia Imani is busy writing and producing. Her new single and music video, Dance With Me, will be released soon and she can be seen in the upcoming movie, “Joyful Noise” with Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton and Keke Palmer.
