Nguyen Thi Hai Phuong is a vietnamese Dan Tranh (zither) player. She began to become acquainted with the instrument at the age of five and was admitted to the Conservatory of Ho Chi Minh City two years later. After nine years of study she passed her Dan Tranh Diploma and her Superior Diploma five years later. A "Silver Medalist" at Ho Chi Minh City's 1989 Festival of Singers, Dancers and Professional Musicians. First prize winner at the Vietnamese National Young Talent Competition in 1992 on the Dan Tranh. First prize winner for her interpretation new compositions. Hai Phuong has performed in many concerts in Japan, China, Thai Land, Belgium, France, Hong Kong, etc... Besides, her CD with Prof. Trân Van Khê, recorded in 1993 in Paris, was awarded a special prize; judged by prestige musician group of the world.
