The four piece band Newgatti was formed October 2006, in a rundown rehearsal room at the XIII. district of Budapest. Unfortunately, the place has been demolished since then, and a nice residential area was built there. In the first rehearsals they try to find themselves in music, find the right sound, and dove into the joys of songwriting as well. Each of the four members love different styles of music, so at first it seemed a bit difficult to find the common ground, but then they realized that they don’t need such a thing, the most important for them is the music, and that was more than enough. Their style is so called indie-rock, but that’s a label which they got from others, not their own choice. They just like to play, especially loud. Newgatti’s first concert was in December 2007 at the Gödör Club, which was so successful, that since then they play concerts almost every month in different clubs, and venues in Budapest. The first gig was an unforgettable experience, which really gave them a kick. They became regular guests in the Fészek Club, and Artkatakomba, but they also played in the Trafó Club, Dürer Kert, and the Club Erőd in Mezőtúr. The band participates in the “Budapest Underground Talent Festival”, and their drummer had won in the “Best Drummer” category. The band also won a trophy. A chance to open for one of the jury members in the future. The following year was very determinative for them, because they completed a 6 track EP, which debuted both on Facebook
