New Saxons 101 (noo sak-suh n ) Hailing from one of the southern most points of the known civilised world and forged within the compounding pressures of middle class life, New Saxons have crawled out of the primordial chowder…to dazzle you no less. Identified by the sharp front man, untamed bass player, bashful keyboard player and the nocturnal drummer, New Saxons live displays of music have fascinated for the past year. Their songs are inspired by the melodic guitar ensembles of the late 20th century. However, this evolutionary link is more a homage than complete imitation as their sound is more a modern take on guitar pop, with familiar twist. As the first line of their track Teenager states “Well you’re an Animal, you’re a Teen-wolf” perhaps it’s time you gave in to their call of the wild.
