New Mojave Trio are a Brisbane based group offering a tasteful concoction of anything and everything smooth and funky with a dark, noir infused edge set to awaken the organised criminal in all of us. Uniting the soulfully explosive saxophone tones of Denny B, the melodically singed lines of bassist Lukas J and the madcap percussive antics of Nicky D, New Mojave Trio meld multiple sounds, styles and flavours into one big hungry musical mashup of perfect criminality. Launching in early 2016, the trio have quickly made inroads into Brisbane’s local music scene, securing residencies at Lock N Load, Boundary Street Markets and the Embassy Hotel. Although operating primarily as an instrumental three piece, New Mojave Trio frequently work with a wide array of vocal and instrumental collaborators; bringing fresh sounds and interpretations to their expanding repertoire of unique, original material; chopping and changing their sound to meet the needs of any occasion; seamlessly blending jazz chops, Latin grooves, Afrobeat rhythms and dark funky vibes.
