about

The New Bohemians are a 5-piece musical group hailing from Dallas, Texas. The band is sometimes noted as "Edie Brickell & New Bohemians" (as is the case with albums "Shooting Rubberbands At The Stars," "Ghost Of A Dog" and "Stranger Things"), when Edie Brickell is playing with the group. From 1982-1988 and 1999-2001 the band (including Edie Brickell) were the New Bohemians, however the band has performed in recent years without Edie under the same moniker. On the morning of September 3, 2007, keyboardist Carter Albrecht was shot in the head and killed by a Dallas neighbor, who was ostensibly firing a "warning shot" at a man banging on his door.
