New Band was an ass-rocking quartet from Akron, OH. The brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Todd Moore, New Band officially began its journey to bandhood in early 2006 after his departure from fellow Akronites, Stiletto, when he asked friend and former bandmate Tanner "Wild Bill" Young to play drums on a new project. Over the course of the following two or three months, the pair crafted a few songs before welcoming bassist Aaron Rogers to the band. Having played together (albeit briefly) in high school, the trio worked well together and tightened up their songs, all while waiting for the missing piece of the puzzle. Enter Scotty Moses. An old acquaintance of Todd's and an amazing guitarist, he joined up in the summer and the songs were reborn, filled-out, energized, and sometimes even breathtaking. In October, the fearsome foursome recorded a 5-song demo with friend of the band Ben Cureton behind the mixing board. Originally intended to be a private recording for perfecting the songs (mostly so the lyrics and vocal melodies could be worked on), it became the only recording the band ever produced. Tensions in the band were rising, due mostly to anxiety for lack of shows, and when Todd went to Florida for two months in early 2007 to finish composing lyrics and work up enough money to buy a new amp, the band reached a standstill.
