New Amusement are an indie band from Dublin, Ireland. The current line-up solidified in the Summer of 2007. Members are : Brian Molloy, Darragh Clabby, Frankie Whelan and Alan Power. Spring 2008 saw the release of the debut mini-album from New Amusement : "Any Port in A Storm". The mini-album, released on indie label Any Other City, recieved critical approval and key tracks "Gone to Sea" and "Lights Go Down" received nationwide radio play, both songs even topping the playlist charts on Phantom Fm. 2008 was also eventful on the gigs front, with support slots with the likes of Vampire Weekend, British Sea Power, Blood Red Shoes, Sons and Daughters and Nada Surf. The band also gigged around the country, including a memorable performance at the Oxegen music festival. 2009 will see the release of a 7" Vinyl double A-side single on March 13th. The single, featuring a-sides "Jamboree" and "The Shocks", will also come with two free downloadable b-sides: "Casimir" and "Twenty Years" . New Amusements debut full length album will be released in mid Autumn on Any Other City Records.
