Neuroticism was founded as Hogwash in 2010 by Gijs, Tinus and Robin. After Erik joined the band and the direction of the band became clearer, they made the decision to continue as Neuroticism, because that name was fitting better with their music and lyrics. Neuroticism plays a mix of mostly Death and Thrash Metal, but influences from (for example) Doom and Punk can also be found in the songs. The lyrics deal with subjects such as: personal struggles, the human mind and psychiatrical diseases, but also political and historical subjects are used. As of October 2011, the band consists of: Gijs Startman - Guitar/Vocals (CONFLIKT, Gutchamber) Robin Smeenk - Guitar Erik Doldersum - Bass (Yawgmoth) Martijn "Tinus" te Biesebeek - Drums (ex-Epsilon) The band hopes to release their first demo in Q1 2012.
