March 2020, and whilst much of the music industry is grinding to a halt, Cheltenham-based Neptune Rain are busy recording their self-produced debut EP, and mapping a path through the strange times that lay ahead. Fast forward three months, and the band have produced over 10 weeks of lockdown content, including full band cover videos from their respective homes, their own internet chat show complete with guest appearances from other artists, plus a delightfully unexpected 30 Seconds To Mars / Take That mash up - a combination that nobody was crying out for but which everyone needs to see. With the easing of lockdown and social distancing measures, Neptune Rain are now entering phase two of their launch campaign, with the release of their debut single 'If That Was Love' on 19th July 2020. After forming in late 2019, the song epitomises the band’s sound, fusing raw emotion with captivating melodic hooks to produce stratospheric, modern rock anthems, whilst switching seamlessly between powerful and authentic rapped and sung vocals, soaring synths and distorted guitars. With a clear dynamic of light and shade in their writing style, the darker influences on their sound are evident, but the end products are a unique culmination of pain and hope expressed in a style that is unmistakably contemporary and undeniably their own.
