''Neptūns'' was a rock band from Liepaja. Founded in 1962 as a pop orchestra from the fishermen's collective farm "Bolsheviks", in the early 1980s as new members joined, the group turned to rock music and later heavy metal. In 1982, the group consisted of Ainars Virga (guitar), Uldis Šokolejs (bass), Guntars Račs (drums), Līga Poškus (voice), Viktors Smetanenko (voice). During this period new progressive ideas began to appear in the band's repertoire as they played a wide variety of genres of music, from schlager to hard rock. In 1983, Jānis Lūsēns took over as the leader of the group. From then on, the band played only the music he composed. Ivars Piļka became the new bass player, and Maija Lūsēna and Aivars Brīze became the vocalists. In this line-up, the band recorded their only studio recording - a mini album ''Par Smilgām''. In 1985 Aivars Brīze and Ainars Virga left the band joining Līvi later that year, they were replaced by Zigfrīds Muktupāvels and guitarist Tomass Kleins. In 1986, Neptūns ceased to exist in this formation, becoming the second incarnation of the band Zodiaks. In 1985, for a brief period the band had the following line-up: Johnny Salamander - guitar, Māris Mikuļskis (bass), Zigmunds Latuškēvičs (organ) Ainars Karps (drums), Ivo Fomins and Ēriks Budēvics (vocals) The creative team created several musical compositions. In 1986, a new line-up was created which recorded the band's most famous songs "Dzelzsbetons", "Romance" and "Tumsas Bērns". Ivo F
