Essentially, NeonSoul is the brainchild of musician and producer, Jay R, who comes from Stafford, in the Midlands, UK. The music from NeonSoul is nearly completely produced & written by Jay, with added help from fellow musical friends Sam (Conceptual Malpractice - producer/guitarist), Danny Hall (Son Of Dork - drummer), & vocalists Eva Lazarus, Rhiannon & Steph. With a hugely eclectic variety of differing styles and genres, NeonSoul’s music mainly follows the beaten track of down-tempo electronica, with several other elements such as Rock, Dubstep, Trance and Breaks thrown in for good measure. NeonSoul originally started out as a collaboration between good friends and fellow producers Jay & Sam back in 2005, when both of them were still studying at Stafford College on Music Technology courses. Initially NS started as merely a side project, as both producers were concentrating on their coursework and own individual projects. It was only a matter of time before the lads started working together, having similar tastes in production, and it seems that hard work had paid off when the double-sided album, ‘Behind The Music’ (2006), was released digitally. Over the course of time, Jay has taken over the legwork for NS, with Sam temporarily moving down to Plymouth to top his qualification up to foundation degree level; however, Sam has definitely been a huge influence within NS.
