Nemirah were based in Orange County, California from the late 90's to the early 2000's. Much different than any other band in the thriving Orange County Hardcore scene, they played screamy, fast, melodic hardcore/emo not dissimilar to a noisier, more frantic Lifetime. The initial lineup was David Garcia (guitar), Dave Townsend (bass), Dave Baine (drums), Collin O'Brien (vocals) and Jesse Moser (guitar). This lineup recorded a 7" for Redwood Records. Tyson Thurston (now Tyson Torstensen) was later brought in on bass to record the "Via Telepathy" LP/CD, again for Redwood Records. This lineup completed a small tour of the West Coast. Torstensen was replaced by label boss Chris Smith, with whom the band toured the United States. Smith was in turn replaced by Eric Golding. This lineup played their final show at Koos Cafe on June 15, 2001. Nemirah never gained much popularity and existed during the short period when the internet was just starting to influence music. Members went on to play in bands like NORTHWEST (Smith, Torstensen and Garcia); THE MOON UPSTAIRS (Baine); GOOD TIME WOMEN (Baine); MAGICAL BEAUTIFUL (Torstensen); HEAD OF FEMUR (Torstensen); GA'AN (Torstensen); DALMACIO VON DIAMOND & THE ENOCHIAN KEYS (Garcia) and more? Redwood Records also released albums from Treadwell, Killsadie, The Fauves, Inside, Sharks Keep Moving, Rocky Votalato, Amendment 18, Chokebore and more. You can still find some Nemirah records through distributors, although Redwood has destroyed most
