about

Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young and American rock band Pearl Jam recorded in the studio in Seattle in January 1995, eleven days after performing with together at an abortion-rights benefit in Washington, D.C. Pearl Jam members had always been devoted fans of Young's music (they used to play some of his songs at their shows, such as "Rockin' In The Free World" and "Fuckin' Up"), so when in 1995, Young asked them to work along with him on his next record, they accepted immediately. As a result of this union, a 11-song record called Mirror Ball was born. Musically, it follows the same hard rocking style commonly heard on Neil Young & Crazy Horse records. Although the record didn't receive many positive reviews from the media, it has gifted the fans of both bands with some great songs like "Downtown" and "I'm The Ocean".
