NEGUS NAGAST YELIDJOSH (Venezuela) - (English version) - An unusual trip to Jamaica changed the life of some Venezuelan young students with passion to play some more than just music. The need of share a consciousness message and an important and ancient African culture without roots in Venezuela was the reason of the Negus Nagast Yelidjosh.. “The reggae band who reborn the powerful, emotionality and spirituality of reggae music in Venezuela”, says Billy Mystic, leader of Jamaican reggae band, “Mystic Revealers”. Negus Nagast Yelidjosh means the sons of The King of Kings in Amharic. The band members are musicians and professional workers from Caracas. The Negus aim is to share the message of Rasta roots: Selassie’s footsteps, love, peace, conscience, unity and hopes, behind the most Irie and sensual music of the Caribbean: Reggae music! Negus born in july, 23 of 1999, in the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), when was playing for the first time in the 107º anniversary of the birthday of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I. Negus had been awaking conscience and sharing Rasta vibes with nuffs ruff riddims of his “Rastafari Fi Salvation” album, the first independent production recorded and mixed in Caracas in the middle of 2002. The album had a lot of acceptance and sold more than 5.000 copies, just in the little market of reggae in Venezuela.
