Nebron is a Hungarian metal band formed in 1996 by guitarist István Vass and vocalist Balázs Lévai. Prior to this, the founding members played in a black/death metal band called Purgatorium. After adopting the name Nebron, the band began writing new material and performing in Hungary. In October 1997, they entered the studio to record their first and only demo, The Message, with Győző Körtvélyessy on drums and Ferenc Papp on bass. The demo sold around 1,000 copies worldwide and received coverage in several metal magazines. By the end of 1998, Nebron signed a contract with Dark Horizon Records for a CD release. Following lineup changes, Tamás Sándor joined as drummer, Zoltán Csendes became rhythm guitarist, and Balázs Lévai took on bass duties alongside vocals. In the winter of 1999–2000, the band released a CD through Dark Horizon Records that included The Message demo and four additional tracks recorded in 1998. In March 2000, Nebron recorded two tracks for a split CD/gatefold LP with Allfather (Canada), Hordes of the Lunar Eclipse (USA), and Gnostic (USA). The split CD was released in spring 2002 by Dark Horizon Records/Realms of Darkness Productions. Following this release, the band completed material for their full-length album Domination of Seven Blood. Nebron’s lyrics focus on ancient Hungarian history, pagan culture, nature, and mythologies, drawing parallels with Sumerian, Egyptian, and Phoenician traditions.
