Nathan Francis left San Francisco for the Sibelius Academy in 2018. Quickly making his mark on the Helsinki scene, the bass player and composer began working in bands led by Max Zenger, Joonas Leppänen and others. Founding his own group was the next logical step, and the line-up was swiftly completed by pianist Markus Niittynen, drummer Aleksi Heinola and a living jazz legend, saxophonist Eero Koivistoinen. On the recent sophomore effort Diamondback, Francis and Heinola are joined by pianist Riitta Paakki and saxophonist Manuel Dunkel.
