水田直志 (Naoshi Mizuta) is a Japanese composer and musician known for his work in the video game industry. He was born on January 3, 1972, in Tokyo, Japan. Mizuta is notably recognized for his contributions to music in various video game franchises, most notably in the Final Fantasy series. Mizuta joined Capcom in 1994, and composed for games including "Street Fighter Alpha" , "Resident Evil 2" and "Mega Man & Bass". He was transferred to Square Enix (formerly Square) in 1998. He gained prominence when he was assigned as the composer for the game "Final Fantasy XI" (2002). His compositions for this massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) received praise for their atmospheric and evocative qualities, enhancing the gaming experience for players. In addition to his work on "Final Fantasy XI," Naoshi Mizuta has contributed to other Square Enix titles, including "Parasite Eve II," "Blood of Bahamut," and "Final Fantasy Dimensions."
