Artist
namke communications is the current pseudonym of John Tuffen, based in York (UK). Formed in September 2001 with Damian Murphy for York's SightSonic festival, and originally simply called namke, the first performance was a rambling electronic/electric set in Impressions Gallery. Since then, the creative horizons have been expanded to include video production and photography in addition to music - hence the renaming to namke communications (sometimes abbreviated to namcom). Releases have been fairly thin on the ground, with the self-released CDr being the norm. 2003 saw the release of 'available from' on Leeds' fencing-flatworm records as well as the 7" vinyl release of ice-9/salo on iwari.
