Artist
While Naik's friends were enjoying their youth, Naik spent his days trying to format zip disks for his akai sampler. These days not much has changed, although between technical problems Naik has managed to churn out a few tunes here and there. He likes to think that they are new and different. A lot of people like to describe them as refreshing. This makes Naik think of Sprite. You can check them out yourself in early 2009 when Naik releases his debut LP, In The Shadow of Thunder Mountain, on Paper Chain. He cites a wide range of influence, from Dilla, Madlib, Prefuse 73, Koushik and DJ Shadow, to Explosions in the Sky, Cult of Luna, Isis and The Mars Volta, to Battles and My Disco to Dungen. These influences all culminate to give Naik his unique sound. http://www.myspace.com/iamnaik http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=330521566&id=330521033&s=143460&ign-mpt=uo%3D6 User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
