Pablo Garrido is performing since 1994 some of the most curious, hair-rising and personal sounds from the south of Spain. He started as Naïfloop in 1998 with his first electronic releases both on his own and also together with bands like Tom Cary, Icono, Eugene or the Heavenly Corporation. This heterodox multi-instrument player admits: "I normally finger like a child any kind of instrument until I get a good sound from it. You cannot say I play any instrument in the usual way, which would supposed to be a disadvantage to play with a band. I converted this into an advantage to create my own personal world". His skill on digital software is based on editing and manipulating sounds recorded on his old studio, full of analogic junks and old microphones. His sound goes between electronic pop, dub, glitch core sounds and abstract ambient. All of these through his particular sleeve of low fidelity and combined with all the possibilities of music software. Names like Brian Eno, Lee Scratch Perry, Brian Wilson, Steve Albini, Todd Rudgreen, Martin Rev o Captain Beefheart comes to head when we hear his music and are remarkable influences on his sound. Nevertheless, the use of digital technology and the randomized melodies and rhythms take his music definetely to a new place. We can highlight two main issues on his artistic career: His first project Icono (1995), and his current band, Tom Cary.
