Mystic Circle is a German black metal band formed in Ludwigshafen in 1992. The group initially played death metal and recorded a rehearsal demo the same year, though it was never officially released. The band disbanded in 1993 but reformed in 1994 with a new lineup and issued several EPs before releasing their debut album in December 1996. After the release of their 1998 album, they toured with Marduk and Old Man's Child and performed at several major rock festivals. Following the 1999 album "Infernal Satanic Verses," drummer Aarrrgon departed, and the band used a drum machine to complete their tour. In 2007, member Beelzebub left to focus on another project, Gloomball. It was initially unclear whether Mystic Circle would continue, but Beelzebub later confirmed that the band had ended. In November 2021, Mystic Circle reformed and announced their self-titled eighth studio album, released on February 4, 2022, marking their first new album in 16 years. In October 2022, they revealed that their ninth album, "Erzdämon," would be released in March 2023. The single "The Scarecrow" was released in January 2023, alongside confirmation of the album’s release date of March 17. On January 16, 2025, the band announced that they were working on their tenth studio album, "Hexenbrand 1486," scheduled for release on October 31, 2025.
