Mysterious Universe (or MU) is a popular podcast recorded weekly in Sydney, Australia. The podcast typically discusses the paranormal and other topics outside the popular news media. Some of the most common topics covered are Bigfoot, alien abductions, shadow people and Old Hag Syndrome. The first nine episodes from the first season are not available for download and were never planned to be aired outside of Sydney. The first season is available to buy on the Mysterious Universe site as a USB Flash. Mysterious Universe is regularly in the the top 25 most popular podcasts as ranked by PodcastAlley.com and has been as high as 4th most popular. Mysterious Universe is also notable as the host, Benjamin Grundy, resigned from his day job in January 2007 and declared that he will become a professional podcaster, producing Mysterious Universe as well as other related podcasts full-time. The second season of MU brings the new co-host for the show, Aaron Wright. Presently, Mysterious Universe remains free, but for 9$/month subscription MU Members receive an extended version of the show, plus one weekend episode of an additional podcast entitled Mysterious Universe Plus along with other special members only extras.
