Lying somewhere in the thousands of sub-genres of folk is Myriad Valley, a psychedelic folk, one-person project from Minnesota. Beginning in 2021 and appearing in 2022 on the "Was Ist Das?" label with their debut album "Otherworld" on cassette tape. Information on Myriad Valley is scarce, such as the musician only being known as "Joe," and most of their physical releases being limited edition. Using bells and percussion, Myriad Valley extends the psychedelic folk and drone genres with their calming. warming, and somewhat cinematic tone. As Myriad Valley continued, "Was Ist Das?" became the main distributors for Myriad Valley's sophomore "Eternal Space of Mind," and their third and latest LP, "Shining Memory," which was released on the artist's own BandCamp page. Myriad Valley is similar to most artists in the psychedelic folk genre, most notably, Natural Snow Buildings.
