My Own Voice was born in 2001 from the idea of Marco (bass and vocals) and Luca (guitar), two 16 year old friends that share a deep passion for hardcore. After meeting the drummer Monzi, we start writing the first songs and playing the first shows around Milano. We focus on a very fast old school hardcore with many new school influences, inspired by bands such as Raised Fist, Strife and so on. The first ep "My Own Voice" is recorded in the same year, and though it's really lo-fi shit after a while it earns the band a proposal from Rudy Indigesti's Vacation House Records: the first full length album "The dinner of the ashes" is released in spring 2003. Many line-up changes slow things down: first Paolo takes Monzi's place at the drums, then Augu enters at the bass guitar, and Richi, an old friend of My Own Voice's, joins the band as side guitar, just to become the main and only guitarist when Luca decides to give up due to many engagements. Whew! and then Paolo leaves the band and Fede takes his place. In 2004 we record a new song, "Invisible Monsters" for the punk compilation of the webzine kronic.it. Live gigs go on around Italy, Germany and Switzerland, lots of sweat and passion, little audience but the few the proud the crucial hey! In spring 2006 we record our new album "De Ira", published in march 2007 with the help of Weirdo Records, Full Of Hate Records, Casa Perno and Blacklist Records.
