My Eternal Thief and the Band of Hope is the musical arm of the Society of the Eternal Thief. It was formed in 1857 as a direct result of the disolution of faith (it was inevitable that things would start this way). Years later, founding member David was sent to Tasmania on a charge of being born. It was here that he formed his initial theories on the beauty of sadness. Eternia was an early attempt by the Society to put these theories into practice. The landmark album From Dungeon's Luxury of Doubt was released at the beginning of a turbulent century against a background of discontent. It set the scene for what would eventually become known by the Society as "The Great Silence". Things would never be the same again! Even though the album was a critical success, the Society slid into a long peroid of introspection. Under pressure to move (forward, backward, sideways, but never in stasis) the Society did what it does best: it re-evolved. Revitalised by this self-imposed exile, the Society has announced it's intentions with the formation of My Eternal Thief. Ingoring the tired cries to "be more like this...more like that", My Eternal Thief builds on Eternia's explorations whilst travelling it's own path. With nary an acknowledgment for the prevailing fashions, the Society remains outside - not even bothering to glance in.
