There are several artist to hold the name Mushi: Mushi is Danish alternative pop with influences ranging from Cabaret, Western and Balkan. Mushi's music doesn't sound like anything else on the Danish music-stage. His style is catchy, a touch of melancholy pop/rock with a great deal of western/Balcan/folk/cabaret and a pinch of salsa. But - and that is important - it is always on the move. The album unfairytales is imbued with catchy refrains, use of untraditional musical instruments and never-ending surprises. His music is characterized by its versatility and the international feel. Not much in Mushi's music smells like the backwaters of Denmark. His music is a dogged confrontation with narrowing limits and strict ideas of what mainstream music is supposed to sound like. And it is done without being too narrow or hard to understand: the catchy tunes are given high priority. As for the lyrics Mushi has a lot on his mind. They are centered around the tragicomic and bizarre sides of life - always made with a twinkle in the eye. Rasmus Fynbo is the man behind Mushi, which is a solo project. Fynbo is by and large an autodidact and has in no way been urged to create music (rather the opposite), but in mild defiance he has written and produced music throughout the last 15 years and has catalogue in excess of 500 songs.
