The Orlando based Mumpsy create a pop incarnation of eclectic influences ranging from punk bands to '50's crooners and beyond. Releasing six albums and a handful of b-sides since 2005, Mumpsy started as a musical project fronted by singer-songwriter Jeff Ilgenfritz and quickly caught on like a wildfire in the surrounding Central Florida area. Now a full-fledged band, Mumpsy has logged 9 tours, 4 releases, and 8 music videos in the past 2 years. Since performing heavily as a touring powerhouse, Mumpsy has been televised on CBS, won the Collegiate Nationals Music championship in San Diego, took "best garage pop" in Sufjan Steven's Great Xmas Song Xchange, performed at Cinevegas 07, and showcased in October 08 at CMJ in New York. Their latest release was a self-financed 7" EP, "Posturing," which showcased a live, blistering sound, more accurate to their live presence. A free download "Mortgaging Our Future For Right Now," was also released as a free album of b-sides and rarities on their website in Summer 09. This will be replaced by a new album of b-sides taken from their most recent recording session in late 2010. In Spring 2011, Mumpsy will embark on a 25 city tour that will take them to SXSW in Austin, TX. They plan on self-financing and releasing their 3rd full-length in Late Fall 2010 entitled 'Fatelifter.'
