MUARENA HELENA are an east London based quartet, sometimes quintet that play a relaxed brand of experimental rock, drawing on influences from the American underground scene and instrumental music as diverse as elevator muzak and classical. Their live show tends to be louder than their recorded output, but both bodies of work defy easy definition. They've been compared to Yo La Tengo, Blonde Redhead, Devo, Stars of the Lid, Neutral Milk Hotel, Trans Am, The Smiths, Sparks, Pink Floyd, Arcade Fire and Blondie.
