Muškat Hamburg is a Slovenian rock’n’roll/hard rock band. Muškat Hamburg is a band that should make Slovenia proud. Not because they have a singer, who, hidden behind an enormous afro wig, sun glasses and a Mexican moustache, has the liberty to poke fun, pull faces, mug and looks like a turbo clown. And not simply because they put on a seemingly reckless, carefree and ragging performance. Also not because they are the first true rock'n'roll band from Štajerska after Res Nullius. Or because after a long time Muškat Hamburg are finally one of a kind r'n'r band from Maribor. Slovenia should rejoice that it has Muškat Hamburg, since it can finally brag with a local band that can groove in rock'n'roll style, entertain in rock'n'roll style and doesn’t try to intellectualise rock'n'roll. Their desire for going further and deeper is certainly obvious. Harmonious singing of the singer and bass guitarist is so convincing that it makes us wonder if they had sung together in a school choir. And after all, behind these four guys sits a strong and nimble drummer, capable of incessant grooving without trashy phrases and unnecessary passages. Muškat
