Mrtvi Kanal was a New wave music band from Rijeka, former Yugoslavia formed in January 1979. They started as a classic punk band but soon they developed a unique new wave/synth sound with provocative and socially conscious lyrics. They recorded live radio broadcast in 1979. and also released a split tape with Grč in June 1983. They disbanded at the very end of 1983. They reunited at the end of 2008. and occasionally still perform nowadays. Mrtvi Kanal are considered to be a one of the most important 80's punk/new wave bands from Rijeka, together with Paraf, Termiti and Kaos.
