Mr. Rush is an up-and-coming rock band from Denmark with inspiration from a number of genres, from surf to cinematic and everything in between, including synth keys, heavy grooves, progressive soundscapes and rocked guitars. Mr. Rush makes high-energy indie rock mixed with more melancholic and trippy elements and a hint of punk attitude. With inspiration from the alternative rock scene from the 90s. Here they put words to feelings of division, refuge and doubt of belonging, for a generation that has a hard time finding their place. In the spring of 2021 the band went to Klitmøller to record their debut EP: Cold Hawaii Session. The record consists of three fully produced songs, two live sessions and an interlude connecting the two parts. Despite the lo-fi production, Cold Hawaii Session is still riddled with a lush and gorgeous group of textures and smooth feels that make it unique as it plays out with a sort of late 90s underground style. The EP was well received by the online music reviewer page The Sounds Won’t Stop who wrote: “The record boasts outstanding keys and guitars that act as the rhythm instruments but almost always have these great bridges and experimental feels whether its delayed and aggressive lead guitar sections, swelling keys, and growing percussion.
