Mr. Lisp is a rock band from Philly, currently consisting of Chris, Shane, Matt and Nate. If the bands true roots were to be examined, they would lead back a garage in Doylestown, PA during the year 2011. Chris and Shane recorded the final track on Bourgie Boys, "Plates Outside, but Not in the Rain". A combination of unlistenable electronics and circus noises, it provided the groundwork for their unique sound. In the following years, many of the songs on the album would be written/recorded under different monikers. Songs such as the "Hoochie Hump" and "Jesus was a Necromancer" were written for and performed by different projects put together by the independent members of what would be come Mr. Lisp. After an apparent mountain of lineup changes, Mr. Lisp was born. With a formidable booking and no-stops writing schedule, the group is one of the hardest working bands in the greater Philadelphia area. Their newest release, Get Our Minds Right, was released September 28th 2018. The album revolves mainly around themes of existential dread, political animosity, the music scene, birch beer and the Tolkien universe. Following this release, Mr. Lisp embarked on a string of shows including opening for HR of Bad Brains, the first annual American Dissonance Festival, and a summer tour with their friends from Chump (Belgium) and the Purps (Detroit).
