Coz Littler, aka Chop, is the proprietor of UK based APE Studios – one of the finest analogue studios in the world, and a repository for vintage synthesizers, guitars, drums and gear sourced from the world over. He records and releases his own music under the Mr.Chop pseudonym first releasing singles via Jazzman's Stark Reality and his own Ape Records. Chop released his first EP 'Sounds From The Cave' through J&M Records. in 2008. This in turn led to interest from then Stones-Throw Records imprint Now-Again. The Lightworlds EP, released on Now-Again in 2009, has been described a futuristic blend of Vangelis-style, cinematic psychedelic funk, jazz and musique concrete – and is just a hint at where he plans to take his growing faithful. Chop's music and productions have been used by Puma, EA Games, Ford, Sony, EMI, Dos Equis and he has worked on projects for Apple, Mercedes, Bacardi and Hyundai. Recent projects include collaborations with MF DOOM for his Born Like This LP, Reworkings of Pete Rock & CL Smooth's - TROY followed by an all instrumental album For Pete's Sake. Chop has since reworked classic soul and funk versions in his latest offering 'Switched On' Paying homage to the great Funky Moog-lead albums that proliferated in the wake of the synthesizer's invention in the late 60s and early 70s.
