about

Swindon-based English acoustic folk/pop band fronted by singer-songwriter Steve Cox, Mr Love & Justice's first album "Hope vs Fear" was released 1992. EPs Summer Madness 1997, Ideal Meal 2000 and second album "Homeground" was originally released late 2003. The band's third album "Watchword" was released in late 2009 under 'Homeground Records', featuring songs 'Everything (Is Everything)', 'The Shilling Folk' and 'We The Chartist'. The band is heavily influenced by The Beatles, Beach Boys and their fellow Swindonians XTC, though influences from Pink Floyd, Billy Bragg, Paul Weller and Richard Thompson can also be detected. The band has appeared at many folk/roots festivals over recent years including Guilfest, Wychwood, Trowbridge Village Pump, Wallingford Bunkfest, Gillingham Festival and the acoustic guitar festival in Laimont, France.
