Artist
Mr Lager’s distinctive electronic sounds were first heard following the signing of his record ‘Tell Me’ by Chef, one of the original pioneers of the dubstep sound. First featured on Mary Anne Hobbes’ infamous Generation Bass back in 2008, the track has appeared on the seminal compilations Dubstep Allstars Vol 7 and Steppas’ Delight 2 alongside his forthcoming record ‘Four Leaf Clover’. Receiving a full release on Chef’s Subfreq label in July 2010, with accompanying remixes from Distance, VonD and Silkie, ‘Tell Me’ has also been given massive support from DJs lead by Gilles Peterson, Hatcha, Skream and Appleblim. More recently he has joined outfit Various Production, being responsible for several well received remixes on Island Records, Warp and XL Recordings (the latest being MIA). With an album for Various Production and a string of solo releases on the way, he aims to continue producing innovative and captivating music, appearing not just in sets from the scene’s established DJs but engaging with listeners beyond the dubstep sphere. Taking his skills from the studio to the turntables, Mr Lager has headlined nights across the UK and holds residencies at Oxford’s longest running Dubstep nights Freerange and Club:Dub.
