“Mourning Maxwell was a devilishly handsome progressive rock band from Tempe, AZ that liked to have too much fun.” - Derek Smith Mourning Maxwell was a progressive rock quartet with upbeat tendencies and a leaning towards latin and reggae influences. Formed and hailed in and from Tempe, AZ in 2003, the band garnered recognition as three year veterans of Warped Tour and through multiple tours of the US and Canada. They released 2 EP's, 'Our Collective Voice' (2004) and 'Mourning Maxwell' (2005), 1 Live DVD of their Warped Tour experience, then disbanded in 2006 when guitarist Alex Kling moved to Tucson, AZ to finish college. Since their departure, the band has been known to play the occasional reunion show.
