Moti Special was a German New Wave band, formed in 1981 in Hamburg, by Danish guitar player Nils Tuxen, Romanian keyboard player Michael Cretu, bassist/vocalist Manfred "Thissy" Thiers and drummer Reinhard "Dickie" Tarrach. Moti Special scored several hits in Europe with singles from their first album, Motivation (1985), including "Stop! Girls go Crazy", "Cold Days, Hot Nights" and "Don't Be So Shy". After just one album, Moti Special split up, with Thiers and Cretu recording and releasing an album under the name Cretu and Thiers. Tarrach and Tuxen recruited new members and released the album "Dancing For Victory" in 1989, to little success and acclaim. Their last single was released in 1990. Tarrach was the man behind synthesizer music project Tarracco. Cretu married singer Sandra and founded Enigma.
