1) Mood Organ is a construct which seeks to continually reform itself by moving along unexpected vectors with each subsequent release and live appearance, thus recontextualizing previous work. (think of it as a function rather than a variable.) the project began around 2000; until recently, performances and releases were eschewed in favor of private development. a mood organ piece may utilize evolving drones, phase patterns, treated field recordings, noise blasts, chords constructed from feedback, sounds amplified through solid materials, metal percussion, muffled voices, vintage rhythm boxes, shortwave radio, or none of those things. although mood organ employs a doublethink perspective on releases as both creative artifact and disposable(?) consumer product, sound is always the foremost concern.
