Montana 1948 is an indie rock/alternative outfit straight out of the San Francisco Bay Area. Started in the summer of 2008 the ambitious group began writing material largely influenced by Mute Math, Kings of Leon, Circa Survive, Radiohead, and Dredg. Their first EP was released in January 2009 to positive press, only spurring on the excitement for their full length release, Picket Fence in July of 2010. Garnering attention and national radio play have further put Montana 1948 in the spotlight "Montana 1948: Pleasing to the ear indie rock band from [San Francisco] comparable to popular alternative pop rockers like the Foo Fighters or the Kings of Leon. But hardly a sound-alike band, they have plenty of melodic tricks up their sleeves." - recent review User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
