Monika Pundziūtė is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter who rose to national prominence after winning the Lithuanian edition of The X Factor in 2015. Performing under the stage name Moniqué, she quickly became one of the country's leading pop artists, celebrated for her emotive vocals and contemporary sound. In October 2023, Monika released the EP "ir tik dėl jos" under the Moniqué name. This deeply personal work marked a departure from her earlier commercial pop sound, embracing a more introspective and authentic style. The EP featured songs that had not undergone extensive filtering or external approval, allowing her true artistic voice to shine through. Monika described this release as a turning point, stating that it symbolized her beginning as a creator and highlighted the themes she found important to express. In December 2024, Monika marked a significant turning point in her career by announcing the retirement of her Moniqué persona during a farewell concert in Vilnius.
