Born in NYC but raised in Atlanta, Georgia, he rose to prominence in 2016 with a trio of mixtapes that featured guest spots from Gucci Mane, Young Thug, and Akon, immediately turning the heads of labels and critics across the nation: tracks like ‘Boss Up’ and ‘How It Feel’ caught the attention of Cash Money Records boss Birdman, who signed Money Man on the spot. Money Man soon changed his mind about the record deal, professing a desire to remain independent and retain complete control over his music and release schedule.
